Non ISA/SGB courses and qualifications

The recognised qualification for Surf and Stand up paddle boarding

coaching in the UK is the ISA/SGB Surf and Sup Coach Level 1 award which allows you to seek employment at hundreds of surf schools in Britain and in all ISA nations around the world. Any coach wishing to work in the UK or accredit through ISA and Surfing GB should only attend an ISA accredited course. Any coach who is qualified through another qualification (including Academy of Surf Instructors (ASI) and Water Skills Academy (WSA)) that wishes to  support and join Surfing GB as a coach member will be required to complete the ISA Recognised Prior Learning pathway at an approximate cost of £125 (*includes 1 year ISA and SGB coach membership).
