Our surf academy  ISA & ILS  – Level 1 and Level 2 is the only 8 & 12 week program World Wide that is officially endorsed by the ISA. In those 8 or 12 weeks time we are going to get you ready for the level 1 or 2 ISA & ILS  course that is integrated in the program. We offer in Morocco, the land of the 1001 right hand point breaks, a 8 and 12 week surf Adventure including a ISA & LS   Surf Instructor course. The course include some really nice excursion to the most charismatic sceneries you ever will see. Excursions like Marrakech, the snowy mountain tops of the Atlas and adventure camping trips along the Moroccan coast are one of a kind you will never forget.

We prepare you to become an instructor in only 2 or 3 months with our 8 or 12 week surf instructor teacher training camp. You will be based in Taghazout Bay, Tamraght in a awesome villa that has amazing views over some of the best world class point breaks. The large Villa  with chill out lounges and roof top terraces that boosts incredible sunset views, a  heated jacuzzi and a outdoor pool is your home.  You will be out surfing and coached twice a day by our qualified ISA & ILS SLSGB  surf instructors and their assistance. SLSGB SURF LIFEGUARD COURSE IN PEMBROKESHIRE

£195 PER PERSON

The SLSGB Surf Lifeguard Award is internationally recognised and is one the most comprehensive lifeguard courses in the world. It is the preferred qualification for individuals wishing to take up employment within the RNLI Beach Lifeguard Service.

This course is not for the faint hearted.  The training involves running, swimming, rescuing and dragging casualties through the surf zone and up the beach using rescue boards and rescue tubes. Course modules include amongst others, lifeguard and first aid theory, CPR and spinal management.

Candidates must be over 16 years of age, physically fit and able to swim 400 metres in under 7:30 minutes (first 200 meters under 3:30) along with a 200 meter beach run in under 40 seconds.

This course is ideal for individuals that want to keep their options open as the qualification allows you to work as a surf instructor, but also as a beach lifeguard. If you only wish to work as a surf instructor, then you can take the shorter ‘Surf Coach Safety and Rescue Award’ that also has no timed swim.

THINGS TO SEE AND DO WITHIN 15 MILES OF OUTER REEF SURF & PADDLE BOARDING CENTRE IN SPRING & SUMMER 2019

If you are planning your family adventure holiday for 2019, we have come up with a list of things to see & do within 10 miles of our centre in between your surfing & paddle boarding adventures.

Barafundal Bay

Golden sands and crystal clear waters, it is no wonder this beach has been voted the best beach in Britain over and over again! It really is a must see & we run our paddle boarding session right here!

Manorbier Castle 

Right on our doorstep of our surf courses is this absolute gem! A Norman castle which is an amazing visit and right on the coast! You can enjoy a range of refreshments from the beach break cafe.

Manorbier Beach

A lovely beach with soft sand and rock pools - great for the kids and it’s one of our venues we use for surfing lessons & our children’s surf club there are fantastic walks here!

Stack Rocks

Natural Rock arch and rock pillars on the south Pembrokeshire coast are great for our guided paddle tours!

Freshwater West

Sand and rocky beach is wide and very open! It’s awesome if you are looking to surf & it’s our venue in the summer & as it picks up all the waves. Cafe Mor is also based here which makes a famous crab sandwich - yum & our Surf Centre is based in Gupton Farm at the top of the hill.

Lily pounds

Three flooded limestone valleys best known for their covering carpet of lilies, which are at their best in June. Enjoy the walk around the lakes along the footpath to end up at the spectacular beach that is Broadhaven South.

Pembroke Castle

This castle is over 2000 years old and is another must see. Only a couple of miles from up, we use the moat for some of our paddle boarding sessions & there are always activities going on inside the castle, or you can take a stroll around the mill pond. We also have a surf shop in Pembroke where you can get you beach necessities & also hire surfboards & wetsuits & other equipment

Tenby

This walled seaside town is home to four amazing award winning beaches. A fishing village, it comes alive in the summer months and is bustling with people.

Paddle boarding in Wales

Limestone cliffs, sandy bays and crystalline waters – Pembrokeshire’s National Park coastline is a spectacular place to SUP. The sheltered southeast stretch between Stackpole Quay and Barafundle Bay is particularly scenic – here you can join Outer Reef Surf School on a guided paddle past cliffs and caves, with dolphins, porpoises and basking sharks for company. WHAT ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES TO EXPECT…

A quick run down of how the weekend unfolds.

Your weekend consists of two surf lessons, a Paddle Boarding session & a coasteering session and an overnight camp at The National Trust wild campsite.

SATURDAY…

We kick the weekends off early with a warm welcome and an introduction & overview of how the weekend will run in our new Surf Centre based at Freshwater West.

Saturday is the big day with two water activities & wild camping. Each of the activities is two hours long and includes all the kit, you’ll need a few personal items for the weekend, so make sure you see our packing list before you arrive.

Once everyone is happy and ready, its time to grab a wetsuit and surfboard for the first of the weekend’s surf lessons. Whether you are experienced or it’s your first time, our surf coaches are on hand to offer advice and guide you throughout your surfing lesson.

Lunch – You’ll have plenty of time to grab some lunch at Cafe Mor and take a stroll around the beach we can visit our surf shop between the activities. Pembrokeshire has a great vibe throughout the year with plenty to look at, just ask us for some recommendations on where to go and what to see.

After lunch its time for the afternoon’s activity, coasteering. Once your group is kitted out you’ll take a short walk over to our coasteering location, commonly known as the ‘Stackpole Quey’.

Don’t worry if you aren’t confident in the sea or have never tried coasteering before, your group will have two knowledgeable guides who will explain and demonstrate all the skills you need to have a fantastic time.

Coasteering: What to Expect

SATURDAY NIGHT…

Once the day’s water activities are finished you’ll have time to grab your belongings for the evening and visit the supermarket across the road from our base before we leave in convoy to our wild campsite.

We recommend some bbq food and one or two of your favourite drinks, we’ll provide the rest. For those without transport, we’ll help you arrange a lift share with other members of the group.

The camp site is a lovingly crafted space in the national park set on a old dairy farm in the heart of Pembrokeshire. After a quick introduction to the camp, you’ll want to settle into your shared Bell tent or Farm house accommodation.

Finish the night off with stories around the campfire, roasting marshmallows or one or two of your favorite drinks before sleeping soundly under the stars.

SUNDAY…

Sunday morning starts with bacon & egg rolls with tea and coffee (on us) before we wave goodbye to the wild camp and head back to the beach, jump into a wetsuit and hit the Welsh waves one last time.

By 1pm we are typically all surfed out and ready to say fond farewells and home time.

Billabong Ladies Surf and Paddle Boarding Retreats

Hey Ladies, you will all be delighted to hear we still have a couple of spaces free.

You will be learning to surf and Paddle board with our top ISA qualified instructors in our girls only Surf and Stand up paddle boarding weekends-your tuition includes the rental of the surfboard, paddle board, your wetsuit, 2 nights accommodation at Gupton Farm

The week will consist of 4x water sessions and a free Board riders hoodie. We will cover the basics of learning to surf & Sup including how to position yourself on the board, catch waves and pop up, and importantly how to understand your surroundings so you stay safe in the water.

Saturday morning we meet at 9.45am aiming to be in the water by around 10am. We run two in-water tuition sessions a day with a break for lunch in between. Bring your own packed lunch or check out Cafe Mor at the beach to re-fuel. After lunch.., we will head off to Stackpole Quay for a paddle boarding session.

On Saturday evening we usually all head to one of the amazing village pub for some well deserved post-surf food!

Sunday morning we are back in the water for more coaching, then during/after lunch you will have the opportunity for some Q and A with your coaches and advice on what to keep working on. We will also head to the local surf shop for a chat about some surf equipment, so if you have some questions about surfboards, wetsuits or any aspect of the sport, this is your chance to get all the answers and there is no such thing as a silly question here! Then we will all go for a super easy paddle boarding session.
We expect to be finished by 4:30

If you have surfed before or are coming with a friend who has, that not a problem as we have a team of instructors on hand and they will be working with the intermediate side by side with your session. So don't delay and book today!
