This Beach Life guard Award establishes a standard that allows candidates to become full SLSGb Nars Beach Lifeguards, which is Internationally Recognised.

  
The course is held over 40 hours training plus 1 day examination by SLSA Examiners. The course  includes a fitness test involving a  timed pool swim of 400m, that must be completed in 7min 30sec. Candidates must be able to achieve this before attending the course.


N A R S - SLSGB Surf Coach Lifesaver Award UK

[£195 per person]



This Award establishes a standard that allows candidates to manage a surfing lesson when combined with the ISA Level 1 Surf Instructor award.


  
It does not qualify candidates to become Beach Lifeguards. The course is held over 40 hours training plus 1 day examination by SLSGB examiners. The course content is very similar to the NARS Beach Lifeguard award.



ISA,Surfing GB Level 1 Surf Instructor Award UK

[£275 per person]

This Award is aimed at individuals with at least 2 years personal surfing experience, and wish to coach basic surfing techniques.


  
The course is held over 2 days and consists of a pre-course work book, theory/practical work, ABC presentation and assessment. Candidates must also demonstrate that their personal surfing ability is of an acceptable standard. 


It is also a requirement that candidates must complete 20hrs work experience with a approved Surf School followed by a final assessment. Candidates must hold either na NARS Beach Lifeguard or NARS Surf Coach Life Saver award before they complete their 20 hours work experience.


Outer Reef also offers a eight day intensive courses - 30 hours to obtain the Beach Surf Coach Life Saver qualification plus 2 days to complete the Level 1 Surf Instructor course. Then work experience and final assessment can be completed with us. Price £450

ISA,Surfing GB Surf Coach Level 2


The Level 2 Course: Is open to ISA,SURFING GB members who are Accredited Level One Coaches with a minimum of 6 months Coaching Experience. 

Is aimed at individuals wishing to Coach Surfers from Intermediate to Advanced Level. Is particularly relevant for coaches working in senior positions within surfing schools. Includes both training and assessment with the following topics being covered in varying detail. 

Candidates are expected to have some prior knowledge of each subject.
