What we want to do:
To recruit, train and retain sports coaches in a wide range of sporting options
Why we want to achieve this:
Sports coaches, PE teachers, leaders and volunteers are pivotal to the success of any sports development initiative. For individuals to reach their full sporting potential it is essential to access high quality coaching that ensures safe, enjoyable and progressive sporting experiences for young people. If we are to encourage lifelong participation in sport then it is crucial that a child’s first experience of playing sport is a positive one. Outer Reef Surf School aims to do this through implementing a comprehensive coach education programme.
How we will achieve this:
By delivering and promoting an annual programme of coach education, training and lifelong learning opportunities for coaches, teachers, leaders, volunteers, students and parents.
By providing pathways for coaches and volunteers to develop their skills.
By promoting coaching and coach development opportunities through a range of initiatives to raise the profile of coaching.
By supporting the development of new coaches and sports leaders by enhancing links with schools and local sports clubs.
By actively recruiting potential coaches, volunteers and officials into sport.
Through raising the profile of volunteering in sport in Pembrokeshire.
By providing an information and advisory role to partners regarding training, coach education, and lifelong learning opportunities.
